REPAIRING VINYL SIDING
Repairing Vinyl Siding

Introduction

Replacing a damaged section of vinyl siding isn't difficult, but you'll need a special "zip" tool available from sellers of siding.

Vinyl siding requires little maintenance, but can be damaged if abused.
1. Remove damaged siding

Remove strip by inserting zip tool under lip above, pulling down, and sliding. Pull nails with a pry bar.

2. Fasten new strip

Fasten the new strip by nailing through the centers of the nail slots. Do not drive the nails tightly.

3. Relock new strip

Relock the new strip by pulling down and sliding the zip tool while pressing in on the bottom edge.
